Choices of winches
Hey guys, I have a question, just for opinions sake.
I know warn is a great winch, however what are you guys opinion on Smittybilt, Superwinch, Milemarker or some of the others. I've been planning on getting an m8000, but in 2 weeks i'm going to get my jeep painted and speedliner my bumpers so money for a really good winch will be low. 8000, 10,000?
I'm not offroading a lot, no rock crawling, just want a solid, reliable winch I can count on for the times the snow gets too deep or to lend a hand now and then.
Opinions are welcome. Thanks

I've got a M8000 and love it. Milemarkers are good but slooooooooooooooooow as are Smittybuilt and they also have some engaugement issues. My brothers pops out all the time. Superwinch is good but for what they cost just get a Warn.

the smittybilt xrc8 is a good bang for the buck at $299, especially if you don't wheel much. i've probably got 10 or so hard pulls on mine without a problem so far.

I have a Jeep club with over 100 members and there are about 50 winches in the club. 1 guy has a warn and the rest have XRC's. I have yet to personally see any of our XRC's fail but have had to pull the guy with a Warn one time after his winch motor blew. It only happened once but once is enough IMO.

I have an XRC8... Have not had to use it on the trail yet, but I can tell you that I do like the quality look and feel of it. And I did use their customer service line during the install to solve a remote issue and the service was absolutely top notch. Probably the most helpful, polite, and knowledgable service I have ever received by phone.
