I have an older xj and from time to time I have to take my 3 yr old with me and I have found that the car seat he is in doesn't seem to sit on the seat vary well it feels like it wobbles and It wants to flip foreword .
Since its an older xj it doesn't have a place to clip the retaining strap . So is there a place I could bolt on a " bar " on the roof to clip it on

All though this is point less since my 3 yr old is taller than most 5 yr olds and he will be in a booster seat soon / now . I still want him to be safe with me since he has bin with me and " helping me" with every mod I have made

When my kids are in their boosters I noticed they have no head support at all... so in a rear impact they would have some serious whiplash... something to think about. I prefer they go w/o a booster so their head is level with the back of the seat.

Not the right place for questions bud. Try asking in Cherokee Chat. When you begin to build/fab something up then feel free to post your progress here.

My .02 is to bolt something to the floor, not the roof.

Not to be smart a$$ but I'm good at it.

Thinking about it goes in chat, doing it goes in fab.

i don't let my kids ride in the jeep. crumple zones, seat belt retractors, factory car seat hooks, proper head rests, side impact beams and side/curtian airbags helped me make that decision. maybe i'm paranoid...

My dad put us in the back of a pickup truck when went for rides. Of course that was back in 1978.

I like to think we have evolved a bit since then. lol

You can never be too paranoid when it comes to protecting your kids.

I think bubble wrap will do it

I have no plans on taking my 3 yr old on a trail that could end in some sort of harm to him but there will be times where the jeep could be on a steep grade or leaning to one side or the other where the car seat could shift and make him scared of going off road with me .
