Wow ya'll drive damn fast! I wen't 75 once in my rig. Fellt like the wind was going to throw me off of the road. Speed limit around here is 35-45 in most places and 50% of the road I'm on are dirt so it's usually more like 10mph. 110? Hard to imagine for a pumpkin on wheels.

When stock I've done at least 115, speedo was way past the 100 mark. But that was down hill floored open highway. Sunday night around 2am, we were leaving a lil midnight muddin trip, and my speedo was reading 95(on 31s now). Once again, downhill and floored but on a empty paved county road.

I hit 107 (GPS) out in the desert. I don't typically drive that fast but the highway was completely empty and I was already going 85 so in a moment of youthful indiscretion I thought, 'why not?'. With my foot on the floor, we fluctuated between 106 and 107 for about 3 miles of very slight uphill. Even saw 108 (briefly) before dropping down to a more... prudent speed. I hadn't noticed a head wind but when I stopped to change my underwear it felt like it was blowing around 10 mph. That might have been the air rushing back into the big, square, 3-mile-long hole I just punched in the atmosphere behind me, though. Not really sure.
Underwear jokes aside, the experiment was completely drama-free. Besides a lot of wind noise my '89 was rock steady. Of course, I maintain it very well and wouldn't have tried if not for this and the completely empty, smooth highway.

I bought my xj used and put a k&n in box filter on it. That's all I have done and its bone stock besides that, that I know of. I have reached over 125 mph according to my Tom Tom gps. I don't know why it's so fast. My other 92 only got to about 105 or so At almost 5 Grand. This one is at about 3850 rpm when I'm at 120. This is all on a straight stretch of flat highway.

I got mine at least past 100 and she cut power I guess it was maybe 110 or something then everything started to rate and that is when I slammed on the brakes then a **** ton of smoke came pouring out of the engi
