I wonder how many of you guys have bigger tires and an incorrect speedo? I did 100, no you were going 85... your speedo said 100 lol.
That said, I've had my STOCK 99 up to 90 on the highway. If there is any wind it makes it suck, hell going 60 with any crosswinds makes it suck. I agree they are boxes on wheels and weren't intended to slice through the air at 100mph.
Oh and I actually had one shock on the rear, bad shocks on front, a slight wobble around 60-65 and "w" shaped leafs lol. **** was sketchy but I was by myself.

I hit 107 (GPS) out in the desert. I don't typically drive that fast but the highway was completely empty and I was already going 85 so in a moment of youthful indiscretion I thought, 'why not?'. With my foot on the floor, we fluctuated between 106 and 107 for about 3 miles of very slight uphill. Even saw 108 (briefly) before dropping down to a more... prudent speed. I hadn't noticed a head wind but when I stopped to change my underwear it felt like it was blowing around 10 mph. That might have been the air rushing back into the big, square, 3-mile-long hole I just punched in the atmosphere behind me, though. Not really sure.
Underwear jokes aside, the experiment was completely drama-free. Besides a lot of wind noise my '89 was rock steady. Of course, I maintain it very well and wouldn't have tried if not for this and the completely empty, smooth highway.

This problem I here about all the time and I can speak for myself that with bigger and wider tires the speedometer becomes just a useless dial. I've been pulled over twice now because by cruise control was set on the "60" number but the police say I'm going a little over 65mph. Now having been notified twice that it's off, I usually try and keep the needle five below what my desired speed is... I know there are ways to fix it and I too am looking for a low cost fix if anyone knows of one.

Regearing will bring the speedo closer to being useful, you might be able to change the gear on the speed sensor.

Wow ya'll drive damn fast! I wen't 75 once in my rig. Fellt like the wind was going to throw me off of the road. Speed limit around here is 35-45 in most places and 50% of the road I'm on are dirt so it's usually more like 10mph. 110? Hard to imagine for a pumpkin on wheels.
