cherokee opnion
ok so i was on my way to the local repair shop today, when i glanced at a used car and found an either 97 or 98 2 door cherokee. that got me thinking about selling my cherokee. then when i got to the repair shop, sitting in the parkinglot for sale was a black xj waggie. both of these jeeps for sale were stock, and i have no idea on the milage or price on either, and yea i love my 2000 classic to death but how often am i ever going to get a chance to buy either a 97+ 2 door or a waggie. both are completly rust free and the waggie interor looks showroom quality. i didnt get a chance to look at the 2 door interior. can i get everyones opinion on what i should do?

Waggies are cool. If I were you, i'd at least look into it. Price/miles. As for the 2dr 1997/1998, I'm not too sure. I mean you have an xj but, yeah the 2 door newer models must be pretty rare. Personally, I need the four doors on my xj as I usually have passengers and other gear that must be reached semi fast. Although I do get jealous of the 2dr. Pics would be nice, if it's possible.

ok so i just went to look at the waggie again and i got some info on it. its an 88 black limited and the guy is asking $4300 for it there are absolutly no stone chips on the paint, not a spot of rust on it, and the interior is excellent. it has 80,000 original miles on it. i still didnt go look at the 2door yet but i will tonight and i will stop and get pictures of both. but is $4300 too pricey? i really dont know how much it is worth, i tried kelly blue book but they dont list the wagoneer xj so i cant even get a base price.

The XJ Waggies are VERY cool. $4300 seems a little steep but, if it's cherry and with only 80K on the ticker, I'd say that it is well worth that much. Kind of like buying a classic musclecar, almost. I would keep that thing bone stock and use a DD. I'd get another XJ to Tweak out for off roading.

Oh there is no doubt the waggie will not be a DD or an off roader. But being 17 I need to sacrifice one of my vehicles to get the waggie. Now I have a 2000 xj that is my DD with off road acessories for looks (mall crawler), I have a 1995 zj that is the off road only toy, restoring an 88 Comanche, I have a donor xj for the comanche, and 2 Pontiac fieros (one I'm restoring the other is for parts) my parents say one has to go plus I need money to buy the waggie but I can't decide which one to get rid of...I'm hoping to work out a deal where I part out/junk the 2 parts cars then get the waggie

best thing i like about 2 doors is ANYone driving a 2 door on the road is a jeeper for sure. only jeepers can appreciate the coolness of a 2 door xj. not bragging just saying if youre someone who likes to wave, any 2 door jeep will wave back!
plus they look cool stock:
and built!!
sorry my 2 cents

Don't pay that much for a OLD XJ regarless if it is a waggy or not. I paid 1700 for both of mine combined. And they both have the Dana 44 rear end which is the only reason I bought them. Great it has nice interior and only 80,000 miles it is still a 21 yr old Jeep. The bluebook on it will be max 1500 since I did some looking when I was pricing my jeep.
It took me about a month of surfing the net at about a 250 mile radius to find my first Waggy and got it for cheap so Keep looking there are a lot better deals out there.
