I'm sorry, I didnt know you were the judge of who's wasting time on an internet forum.

My bad.

Maybe once all the crappy misinformation is done getting tossed around a real fabricator with experience will come in and let him know how to do a proper exo cage with tie ins.

Yes, he says its for looks, but its not for looks if done right.

I guess someone should tell Travis (Huntingman) that his exo cage does nothing and he really needs an internal cage instead...

Its my money and i can spend my money on what i want and ive seen many cages that are only exo cages and they work fine Ex. my buddy has an EXO meaning out side only caged toyota and he has rolled it down hills backwards and it has worked fine he is still alive and the truck is fine too and answer me this why do you buy aftermarket wheels not bead locks BECAUSE THEY LOOK COOL and and i asked a simple question how much will i need an estimate not a lesson on building cages from ppl who havent even built them and i could use 12in solid rod as an exo cage and i could drop it upside down 10ft and it would survive fine you dont even know what in using do dont even tell me that is will be a waste

I'm thinking of doing a cage now that I'm at 6.5, it'd make me feel safer on the trails. I was thinking of something like this for the inside, since the price doesn't seem too bad, and it's all good to go, plus it doesn't cut back on passenger/cargo space.

Then I'd add a few tubes outside to maybe support the roof/engine area as well.

Thoughts?

not smart, if you do happen to roll with a poorly built cage with no support you could end up causing more injury to yourself and others

Just do it right with proper bracing.

And really, get some help from someone who's got experience. Don't short yourself there, get real facts from someone who knows whats up. Knowledge isn't a bad thing, even with my own projects I get as much infoas I can from as many reliable sources as I can. Makes things easier.

This is the dumbest thing I've read in at least 20 minutes.

What's the point?

I never said an exo-only doesn't work. just that a hybrid is better. and you pretty much agreed with me

has huntingman rolled on his lid before? no? so theres no way to tell if his cage works right
I'd love to see how this thing holds up on it's lid. and if it works, great! I'd eat my words

want some more links? here's a similar exo that crushed like a tin can in a rollover (granted it did have quite a bit of weight underneath).

OP this is a nice little discussion about exos. it's a good read and I'm sure there's related threads. maybe you can get some ideas here (however; the OP of that thread's main concern is SAFETY)

sorry that I have no experience with cage building. but come on you're defending a guy who wants to build a cage just for looks, all for the sake of argument.

anyway post pics when you're done I'd love to see it.
