I'm not gonna feed a misinformation giving troll.
I said do it right. I said talk to someone who's done it, and I suggested not listening to folks who think they know what they are talking about.
Nothing for the sake of arguement. Thats all on you.

Stick it to a set of sliders that are tied into the frame. Also tie into bumpers that have been tied into the frame.
Triangulate, gusset, truss, etc to give reinforcement in necessary areas.
Then you keep the interior space, which can be a concern if your a tall person.

Just do it right with proper bracing.
And really, get some help from someone who's got experience. Don't short yourself there, get real facts from someone who knows whats up. Knowledge isn't a bad thing, even with my own projects I get as much infoas I can from as many reliable sources as I can. Makes things easier.

at a minimum you need to atleast do 1 diagonal brace behind the seats. it wont be enough to protect against a violent roll, but it will keep the cage from crunching against the body during a light roll

the bracing is for structure, which you need. and if your buddy doesnt know that then he is obviously not an engineer. sounds more like a grunt man.
that bracing is what will hold the cage together during a roll.
do some real research.
