I bought mine from a lil old lady that didnt modify a thing and clean title.

Badging was probably replaced in a repaint. The front jeep badge is actually just a plastic sticker 4 individual ones. The side badges would have been stickers for the year cherokee as is the rear.

 

If you want to put it back to orginal, wait to see the orginal build sheet. And see what was used. You can find them on E-bay then. It also dependeds on the model. My '91 Limited came with the Gold badge group, the only sticker is the pin striping down the side. With the word "Limited" in it. Mine also came with a matching alloy rim spare tire. So got the original build sheet from jeep today (ps thats awesome that they send it to you for free) and it turns out mine is actually the 60th anniversary ed. so the black front grille guard is not original as well as the rims. Orig came with 17" aluminum 5 spokes as well as the 60th badging and floor mats. Be looking for those on ebay...

 

Googled "Jeep Cherokee 60th. Anniversary Edition" And this was posted on another Jeep forum site. It's basically a Sport model with upgraded body molding/cladding (same color as the paint), upgraded wheels, a "special" pattern on the seats, 60th badges on the exterior, and floor mats that have the 60th emblem on them.
