cheap and easy headliner fix!!!

Default cheap and easy headliner fix!!!

ripped it out and got the glue and foam off and painted it with 2 cans of flat black spray paint then 2 cans of ruber undercoat spray paint!!! looks decent and wont ever sag again?

That is an easy cheap fix, though... does it not have a smell to it?

not that i can tell it sat outside for 2 days before i put it in truck?

what kind of paint you use exactly?
Did you scrape off the fiberglass?
Cuz thats what i think i have.

i might do this, and just fiberglass it and gloss it over. possibly if i can mold a cb, tv, and some other **** i dont need into it.

i went and bought new black fabric from a joanne fabrics cost $40 and some cans of 3m glue.

I replaced mine with one from a 98,they are much better than the older ones,then it rained the next day and my winshield leaked,never did before,so I replaced the windshield,and glued the headliner where it got wet,great headliner though.

dieselfreak, does your XJ still keep heat in and noise out after removing the headliner and foam insulation? I'm starting to get a lot of headliner sag and I may just rip mine out and do what you did. It looks great!!

it definatly keeps noise out but i cant tell on the heat thing yet cause its a little cool here now and i dont run heat yet,it didnt have much foam on it to start with so i think it will be fine!!! could always pull it back out and add fabric later if u dont like it?

looks pretty neat! i just did mine with gray fabric and skull fabric over it.

Redid mine, Used org. factory color. Looks good, cost about $50. and a afternoon of easy work.

had the headliner in for a few months now and its working just fine,smell took a couple weeks to go away and no heat or noise problems that i can tell!!!!
