Cb inside location????
Mine is mounted between the sunvisors. Took the bolts out on each side, cut 1/5" steel to fit between the two mounting holes for the visors and welded the CB factory mount to the steel. I'll post up the pic in the morning.

I put it on the tunnel on the passenger side, tilted a little for driver better view, mic clips onto the natural lip of the dash.
Passenger knee is against it, I know that is something you wanted to avoid. No complaints on that from the passengers.
They are usually too preoccupied screaming omg we are all gona d or somthing to that effect to notice the cb against their leg. When they do stop screaming I keep em busy with other fun activities like the "go hook up the strap in the mudhole game" or axe is in the back, you have to clear the dead falls on the trail. If you let them play convoy on the cb it also keeps their mind off the space encroachment.
Set your jeep up to suit you best. Some buds mount on the roll bar behind and between the seats and use the rearview mirror to make channel adjustments.

thanx. it's the cobra 75. 96 bucks on ebay. people told me that it doesn't get much range, but so far i've had no problem covering 4-5 miles in the city.
i think you're referring to the post above mine. my cb control unit is right under the 4x4 lever. and that's the part of the cobra 75, you don't buy it separately.

Yeah, that was my post he was referring to, and Tural is correct, the box comes with the CB unit. You'll see that it is what the antenna cable, power, ground, and radio unit all plug into.
Tural has the same setup, I chose not to drill anymore than necessary, avoiding the quick disconnect run through the dash. He did a nice clean job with it, like I said, I just wanted as little alteration as possible.
Thanks for the compliment though!

Alright, here is my actual setup, now that I've had time to take a few pics.
Moving left to right, you'll see I hung the hanger bracket just to the right of the steering wheel. I have the little power supply box/whatever, placed up behind the pedals out of the way.
The last picture was actually taken while I was driving to illustrate how the cord actually stays out of your way. I've yet to have it be an issue. Location's good also, because it's close enough to hear it, not tucked away somewhere away from earshot.
Hope it helps.

look in my sig for the pic of my cummins.... would that cobra 75 be worth buying instead of hooking up this big bulky cobra 29 classic sound tracker.... it looks like would save me much room but i dont want to spend 100$ and not pick up less then a half mile!!

Switch_knuckles, it's a Cobra 75 WX ST Compact/Remote Mount CB Radio with SoundTracker® and NOAA Weather, same as Tural has in his rig. In my opinion, very nice, compact, clean, works very well. Here's a link, though I got mine for closer to $75 off ebay.

cumminallover, I definitely think it's worth it, but then again, I'm not a truck driver with a multitude of other radios to use as comparison. I have a Firestick antenna, and with it, I seem to do just fine picking up about a 5 mile radius in town. I turn it on all the time when I hit construction, just to listen to the truckers *****, as well as get a better idea of what the hell is going on. If you're using it for wheeling, so you can talk back and forth between trail buddies, you'll be more than fine as well. I purchased it just for the fact it was small and compact, and wouldn't take up much space.
