Here's mine. I have a SWR of less than 1.5 on all channels so the antenna is working out good for me in this spot.\

I have mounted in virtually the same spot as those above and it works find for me.
As far as Driver side vs. Passenger side..... it depends on how tall your antenna is. Mine is a 102".. If you have a lot of trees that over hang the road it will be best to put it on the driver's side so you aren't beating your antenna on the trees as you drive down the road. However, if you go through drive thrus often you may want to put the antenna on the passenger side so that it clears the awnings.
If the antenna is not as tall then for best performance I believe the passenger side is better, at least for highway use. However, for off road it is easier to see the antenna on the driver's side so you can try not to rip it off. If you only use the CB off road then the antenna can be mounted almost anywhere if all you need to reach is the guys in your group.

I have had my antenna on for a month now and I don't have a problem with it mounted on the side. My side view mirrors on the other hand I have to replace every week

Here's mine but I'm a lil more into cb's than most. When I goto the trails or hunting i use a fiberglass skipshooter antenna with a 6in spring. On my MFJ 259 antenna analyzer my numbers are swr 1.0, ohms 50, r-50 and x-2.

Didn't want my antenna on the side for fear of ripping it off or folding and busting the tail light....so I mounted 4 foot whip on the drivers side like the stock FM antenna on the passenger side.
What do ya'll think?
