carpet removal
ok i just did a search so i basically understand. but i wanna make sure i get it right. i know it will be alot more noisy and such but my carpet is soaked with water and mud and is just rotting the jeep at the moment. so my question is. can i just get a exacto knife or whatever. and just go in and cut it out or will i run into problems that way?

I believe there is some wires that run side to side right around the rear bench seat. Be careful around there and the tranny tunnel. Other than that you're good, but removing the side panels and seats is easy. That's what I did first then cut away at the rest.

will you be leaving the floorboard bare? or will you lay it down with something like truck bed liner? thats what i did, and never looked back.

I had to cut mine out of my 92 because I was pretty sure there was rust under there but didn't know if I wanted to see it...I knew there was going to be something but I wasn't quite ready for what I found...
Anyway, just go at it with a razor knife, new blades help a lot
I just started at the back along the rear trim piece, cut as far as I could across it and pulled up as much as I could and when I got hung up, I cut that section off and then started pulling up again. It is loud but I don't really care much for luxury sorta things in a Jeep. I will probably do this to my newly aquired 95XJ, I have already removed the headliner and I know there may be rust under this one....seems to be alot of that here in Indiana because we salt the roads when the "s" word is even whispered.
Good luck.

yeah i have a 94 and the carpet on the passenger side is getting moldy from a windshield leak. is it possible to pull out the carpet to spray it with some mold remover and not cut the carpet to bits. and if it is possible to remove the carpet without ruining it is it worth it to do that?
