Default Carpet cleaning tips

Anyone have any inside info on the best products and/or methods to cleaning a stained light colored carpet? Any experienced pro detailers here?

I'm currently doing one for a Grand, it's coming along but i'm thinking there may be better products out there. I have the carpet out and hitting the stains with Simple Green and scrubbrush, follow that up with a bucket of hot water and dish soap with scrubbrush.

Just wondering what miracle product the pro's are using, for future use..

I have heard of people using a vinyl die to make it brighter again. Its cheap but probably looks like crap. If your going to spend any money just buy house carpet and use the old faded carpet as a template. cut the molded carpet until it lies flat on the ground and cut the new house carpet the same with just about a 1/2 inch overlap. Also you can leave a little tab thing at the top and rivet the two sides together at the top of a cut to make a sudo molded carpet instead of just laying it in there.

Oxiclean. When you're done scrubbing, hang it over a fence and spray it down really well with a hose. Worked well for me.

I saw the dye/cleaner kit in a Google search, it costs close to what a cheap replacement carpet would run.

Oxiclean.. we didnt have any. I think Billy was FOS anyway..

I always used Dawn dishsoap. On my carpeting and a bissell carpet cleaner. Even on indoor carpeting.

That was a SPAM post 2.5 years after the last response.. lol

I ended up dyeing the carpet with RIT and it's looking excellent after a few years still.

Good to see the thread still going after the Hiatus.
