Default Cammo rattle can paint how to?

Ok, I know some of you have done it. What exact paint did you use, how many cans etc? I'm planning on rattle canning mine, i know Ill need at least a dozen cans. I read the JP mag article on how they did it, I've searched for the krylon paint they used, cant find that local. I m looking for the woodland light green, and all I can find is the fusion for plastic krylon paint. I'm concerned about it coming off, my xj is currently red.
I figure scuff the paint, clean it off with grease and wax remover, then ratlle can it, one panel at a time. Thoughts on this?

Rattle can in both hands and flail your arms in figure 8's while spraying as quickly as possible. Save yourself some time and money and park a buddy's XJ next to yours and stand in between them and spin in circles to cover both at the same time. Hooray efficiency.

My buddy did his whole suburu by spraying over different types of foliage with green grey brown and black paint. The original color was forest green so it already had the base. It's been over a year and is holding up well.

I would wash it the day before then hit it with the grease and wax remover right before you paint it.Take your time masking off things you don't want paint on,It will look better and has less clean. As far as paint goes try autozone,A hardware store or even a hobby shop.If any of them don't have it ask if they can order it for you.

Camo is a good idea. It will help to disguise the poor quality finish.

I would start with a base color. Or do two of the main colors. Perhaps tape out the shapes (or use 2" painters tape to do Digital camo look). Once you have the main Color(s) on you could come back with the next / final color.

Not sure if youre doing 2 or 3. I personally like one color flat desert tan. Looks damn good.

The good thing about spraying camo is that if you make a mistake, you can just spray back over it.

Like any other paint job, prep is everything. Scuff good, and have fun!

camos easy... You start with a base coat, based on the type camo you want. Desert browns, mountain greens, urban Black/white/greys. Then randomly spray splotches of secondary colors over that. main goal is to avoid patterns especially on edges.
