Ca smog

I'm buying a 87 xj from Az and the veci sticker is missing. I know trying to smog in Ca is tuff. Does the sticker still need to be there?

Technically, yes...but it will depend on where you take it. Some shops are sticklers, others not so much. As long as all your emissions are in order, you'll probably pass, but it could be an issue...here's a link to the ask a ref website.
