Default retrofit question

So i have h4 bixenon hid kit. But i need to retrofit projectors in my housing. Question is what projector from anothet vehical from junk yardcan i use with bixenon and can use the 4 bulb. I heard most projectors use h1 or h3 but an h3 can be bored to fit h4 bulb. If so which car with factory projector will work?

I can't help with your question, but thank-you for doing HID right. Junkyard projectors is something I have t seen done before for an XJ retrofit--clever idea. I'll be following your progress.

What vehicles are at your junk yard? Any bi-xenon that will fit into the housing will work but I think factory hids use D1S D2S D2R D3S bulbs. Check these out if your looking for cheap. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/clo...rojectors.html

I've personally never seen a Bi-Xenon BMW projector. Some Lexus projectors are but like I said your going to need new bulbs.

You're not going to be able to fit anything in that housing bigger than a mini h1 aftermarket projector without doing some serious cutting. H4 conversion housings just aren't deep enough. As far as factory bixenon projectors go, the smallest one you'll find will be out of a 2010+ Lexus rx350. I've used these in a ton of builds and with a good clear lens upgrade and some shield tuning, the output is awesome compared to the depth of the projector.

And you won't be able to use that rebased h4 bulb in any hid projector. The most common bulb they'll use is a d2s
