A/c compressor the same in grand cherokee and xj?

Is an 2000 grand cherokee have the same a/c compressor as a 2001 xj?

I think they may be the same, but check if there is a difference by looking up both vehicles on www.rockauto.com . If the part numbers are the same then you should be good.

I think I searched about swapping a ZJ compressor into my last XJ because I read somewhere that the Grand used a stronger compressor, but my conclusion was that it would not work. I am not certain about that, but I'll dig through my posts on some other forums and see if I can find it.
