Default Buying a 91 Cherokee?

Hey everyone,
I'm gonna see about a 91 Cherokee with 158,000 miles. I know consensus is that 97-99 are the best years but if everything checks out do you think it's a good buy? Sale price is $1200 but I think I can talk him down because it's been on Craigslist a couple weeks now. I'm not gonna lift it or anything, just want to return it to stock.

If it has ABS brakes be prepared for problems. But there is a lifetime recall on the Bendix 9 ABS system.

I'm pretty sure they started abs in 92. I have a 92 with abs and I hate it. Brakes lock up sometimes and its scary

1990-91 had the problematic Bendix 9 ABS.

Nevermind, I checked it out last night and it looked pretty messed up from the outside. Missing grill, side rubber missing on one side and scraped on the other, and the headliner was shredded on the inside of the car. Overall it looked really neglected so I figured the owner probably wasn't caring for the engine either.
