does any1 know if theres a program that i can design my own bumper for the xj?

 

I personally don't know of any, but I'm really not into computer stuff either.

When I start on a fabrication project I usually get some paper out and draw out my ideas.

I know, that probably wasn't much help.

 

X2 on drawing it out.

You can use 3D modeling software like autodesk inventor or solidworks. They would work but there is a steep learning curve and they are very expen$ive

 

Cheap = Microsoft paint
Expensive = Autocad

i use featurecam. a lot of other guys use solidworks or autocad or autodesk inventor. all good programs. do u have a background in drafting? because these programs are not about just dragging the mouse across the screen to draw a line.

than some nice heavy cardboard and scissors and start planning something

 

Pencil, Paper

 

Pencil or paper works well. I did mine in Publisher. Best thing is to draw it out, get some mounting brackets, and then build a template out of cardboard. From there it's all a matter of cutting and welding.

 

google sketch up is very suitable with downloaded plugins. i design balsa wood model rc airplanes with it. also i designed my trailer hitch.
