I have a couple of questions:

1. does anyone know the nature of this recall and would Jeep really stand by this after 21years?

2. Sheet said this came with factory keyless. Is there any way to locate and have remotes programed to get this working (who knows where the original remote went).

3. Have been trying to search and solve the rear end code. The DRJS 175mm on google searchs comes up with a Dana 35 but the cover leads me to think it is a Dana 44. Is it common for the bulid sheets to have errors. I am assuming that the rear has not been changed by a PO.

4. 205/75/15 tires. Does anyone have pics of their Cherokee with this size tires on it. I was trying to keep stock but I like the looks of the 235 it is currently wearing.

The recall involves a safety that was not installed into your jeep. All it means is that your Jeep will shift out of park without applying the brake pedal first. As long as you are careful and keep your foot on the brake before shifting, it shouldn't be a problem. I don't know if they would still honor it, but reading the post sounds like they should. If you really want to know more about it, try calling the number they provided you with. I'm sure they can provide a lot more information.

1. The recall was for the exact piece the others were talking about. You aren't supposed to be able to shift out of park without your foot on the brake.
Chrysler HAS to stand by it. Its a federal recall.. Its for the entire life of the vehicle, they can whine and cry all they want, its required they do it if you ask.

2. Don't know where to get one. I don't know of many people who would even care after 21 years...

3. 175mm rear axle is a Dana 35. I highly doubt you have a Dana 44. It would have been special order, or part of the towing package. But a PO could have swapped one it. The older the build sheet... the less accurate it is. Look at this code MTBS 4.7L HO Badge 4.7L HO badge.... 89 is Renix.. no such creature as a 4.7L HO to badge.

4. Sorry... almost everyone gets larger tires as the 205/75 looks like a donut on there.
