Budget heat shield
I have an old XJ that I tore the old interior out of as it was dirty as could be and was loaded with a good 15lbs of dirt. The XJ is a daily driver for work which kinda sucks in Texas heat. Im pretty cheap so I was thinking of trying to put some of those solar sunshades on the floor. The dollar store has a bunch of them I figure eight would cover the entire cab.
Has anyone tried this with any results? I tried some thermal paint but that didnt really do anything. One thing that did help was screwing an old cookie sheet to the floor above the cat and muffler. I spaced it off of the floor about 1/4" that made a huge difference.

If you are talking about the bubble stuff covered with foil cover, yes, I did my old Plymouth with this stuff, works great, winter and summer.....
I bought a roll of the bubble wrap from Lowes Home Improvement.
