Bringing back the XJ would be great. I'd be happy if they would just bring back the 4.0L.

by the way vehicles are being made these days i would rather keep my 98 xj.I bet the price range would be ridiculous like the 4 door rubicon. No offense to people who own them but one of our member has proved to make obstacles a $35,000 rig cant do while his rig is about $5,000 to $6,000. In my opinion the rig will be to expensive to tear it up.

They've got the 4.7L Inline 6 now. Why would you want the 4.0?

i hope they dont bring that back. you know if they did, it would have IFS, no low range, and plastic everything on the body. some things arent made to be reproduced. the XJ is one.

I agree with putting the XJ back on the market but it will never happen. Its a classic style that still looks great. I imagine jeep would do a throwback of it but that would not satisfy anyone on this board. You can see the XJ influence in the current line up so you can tell there is a lot of respect in the design department for the XJ but not enought to bring it back.

The Commander is as close as it'll get, sadly.

We have to remember that Jeep is not what it once was with the modern management.

liberty is the predecessor of the XJ.
but i fullheartedly agree the cherokee needs to come back. little more customizeable, little bigger but same shape. no damn bugeyes like the wranglers, liberties and the pre 2011 g.c had

keep the damn body! the thing that makes a cherokee. is the body! and being the most awesome car on the road for under 100 grand
