Brakes work better in the rain?
There is a metal tab on one of the brake pads that contacts the rotor signaling the pads surface is low.
But what does the rotor flinging rain have anything to do with the brakes improving when its raining?

Because the the disc gets wet, and with the flinging of the water it makes it it work like a squeegee is best way to explain it I gues, and with the sensor Best way to describe that is I have heard it called a DUMMY squeal or DUMMY sensor, when my brakes get low I get a squeal on my JGC. And soon after that if not changed Im metal to metal. Let me look for where I read both of these and post for your enjoyment ;-)
So, if you are going to change your "brake sensor" just change your pads to new ones and continue down the yellow brick road

Actually, my travel was apparently because of my rear brakes... the self-adjustment was busted, like always. I pulled the wheel off, adjusted the brakes (quite a bit, too!) and tried again and now I've got about half the travel I did before. Yup.
