Hey all! So I'm having a problem in my 2000 XJ where I hear a grinding noise coming from the back passenger side. It occurs mainly at slow speeds and only when the suspension articulates...Basically if I'm "flexing." It just kind of has a metal-on-metal grinding sound when taking turns where the back passenger tire goes into a dip or pothole, or driving under 10 mph on uneven dirt driveways. I looked under the Jeep and I wonder if the brake line is being squeezed between the axle and the exhaust. The exhaust is missing one hangar towards the back but doesn't seem to sag...On the other hand, my rear springs sag a TON (one leaf has snapped in the passenger side pack...fixing ASAP). I notice that the brake line seems to have a metal or plastic coating where it passes the exhaust (heat shield?). Do you think it's possible that my brake line is getting crushed like this? I've never heard of it happening, but I've also hardly seen any springs quite so sagged...

If one is sagged that bad you can bet they all are both leaf's and most likely coils.
I could not think of a better time for a lift kit a full spring package that includes everything needed to complete the job. 2 yrs ago I did the same on mine using a Rustys Off Road 3" kit (very good springs) just increased to 4 1/2" using them for a base. Everything is in the kit from shocks to nuts and bolts, I have been very happy with the quality of mine.
