I lifted my jeep with 3"blocks in the back and coil springs in the front. I'm having some grinding going down the road and alittle when I mash the brakes. Does anyone know what's causing the grinding? My brake lines are fine and there's no sign of grinding underneath.

 

dry axles? something rubbing a ds? bad bearings? bad brakes?

 

get rid of those blocks. Not safe,angle of the dangle could be off. On a 4x4 I think u need to drop the transfer case. U also need to drop the idler arm & need longer lower arms. It's more than just more spring & longer U-bolts. All the other suspension parts need to be "in spec" or you're screwed. Take it from a old mud worm who in the 80's lifted his '73 3/4ton 4x4 4" using Nova springs up front & re-arcing the rear. There is a better way.

 

Did the jeep sit a while?Sometimes rust on the rotors will grind when stopping.Check your brake pads see if they are getting to thin.
