Default Brainstorming Bumper Build

Ok. So I want a cool bumper but I don't want the pricetag so I think that I could build one. Problem is is that I don't have a welder or tube bender. A friend down the street has a welder and can help me out, but I don't want to have him do all the work. Essentially, I want to do as much as i can then just tell him weld here here and here. What would you guys recommend I do? I want it to look clean. These are a few of my favorites:

^^you can make that JCR bumper for $150 plus shipping right now. doesnt get much better than that. you can add the hoop later

I can't find a decent front bumper for the price either. gonna order some unif tie in brackets from dirtbound and weld them to a stub piece of 2x6x3/16 and do tubes on the side. pretty much gonna look like #2 without the stinger since they are no longer being produced for sale

Yes it is.

And can you weld already? If not I wouldn't just jump into building something structural like a bumper.
And don't bother with the JCR diy kit, it's a rip off imo. By the time you get the frame tie ins and the hoop it's over $300 plus shipping and you still have to build it and put hours worth of work into grinding the welds and putting a finish on it. For the same money you could just buy a finished bumper elsewhere and save yourself a ton of work.

Look at jrc diy bumper kits or one of our vendors on here might be cheaper too.

Thanks for the input, but I just feel like the jcr dyi is overpriced. If I was going to spend that much, I'd just pay a few more bucks and get a l&l bumper (he lives like an hour away so I wouldn't have to pay shipping). I do want to check out some of that pre-bent tubing mentioned above though.

Just and FYI, the bumper pictured by the OP is our "Crusader Series". Our DIY is a different design than our Crusader series.

I like all y'all's bumpers lol. I just don't have a bunch of money to spend right now. Trying to spend about $100 on the whole project.

Is it possible to bend the tubing that I need (I guess like 1.75" x .120" wall dom tubing?) without a bender? Like making jigs out of plywood or whatever? FYI I'm not mounting a winch but will use the bumper to pull out and stuff.

The link that motor posted is amazing, if you're looking for a cheap but good tube bumper I'd look through that thread
