Blocks in the back on you leaf springs is it bad?

watch the front of the leafs pull up and the rear pull down. thats axle wrap. it will destroy things you don't wanna break.

 

What if You already have blocks on. Could you take the blocks off and A leaf and you Previous leafs still be okay?

 

Add a leaf springs more often than not don't work too well in an old leaf pack. They ride rough due to the heavier design as well. Save up the extra cash and do yourself a favor by buying full packs.

 

The lift kit I'm going to get comes with the add a leaf. Could I just use that and than put on the new pack when I save up the money?

 

yes. aal should last you awhile till you are ready to spend on full packs. only difference is that it's usually cheaper to buy the full packs as part of your kit. see if there is a full pack upgrade option with the kit you are looking at

if you have blocks in there already, i wouldn't worry too much about them, they're not gonna cause your jeep to explode in a fiery ball of crash.

i can see the axle wrap issue being a problem with blocks larger than say 1.5 to 2 inches, like in that video... heck, dodge and ford uses blocks to level out their 4x4 trucks from factory.

i have used 2 inch blocks to level out my jeep with no noticeable axle wrap or wheel hop.

i wouldn't use them for the sole purpose of lifting your jeep, especially in combination with stock leafs.

i've seen and had 1 year old rubicon express leafs snap the lower leaf in less than a year with only a couple wheeling trips... and that's without blocks.

 

oh ok. yeah I'd rather run blocks/aal before spending a single dime on RC leaf springs. junk junk junk

couple things. 1 ton truck leaf springs cannot be compared to our little jeep leaf packs. it's actually pretty acceptable to run blocks in a 1 ton truck because the leafs can handle it. second, just because you had no wheel hop doesn't mean other people wont. and how would you know if your axle was wrapping? kinda hard to tell while you're driving. just because your packs aren't S shaped yet doesn't mean you don't have wrap
