Default BFG A/T Ko's

For those of you that are running bfg at's what kind of milage have you been getting out of the tires. I'm at 23k approximately and im due for new tires in the near future I'll post pics of what kind of tread i have tomorrow.

Also when your guy's tires are on their last few thousand miles Do they tend to vibrate more like out of balance?? I took mine in to Discount and they couldn't balance them out completely. said its extremely difficult to balance em when they're this far along...

I have about 20-30k on mine (speedo's off) and they don't even really show signs of wearing. They still ride the same as well

If you're wearing them out that quickly AND having bad vibration problems, I'm going to make a guess that your toe is out of alignment. A little toe will rip though tires pretty quickly, and cause a pretty noticeable cupping on the tire tread (which is what causes the vibration).

A wheel out of balance could cause vibration, but it wouldn't wear out all 4 tires in 23K miles.

I'm going to defer to someone else for the ultimate judgement though... I'm still a solid axle noob, and don't know a lot about their potential alignment problems yet.

I havent had the vibration till recently. and its either the rotors (not sure if they can cause vibration down the road without braking) or the tires. The guys at the tire shop even said they couldn't completely balance them...

But it may contribute to the life of these is i am extremely hard on them, since im 2wd. its a little difficult. Im sure thats had an extreme impact. You'll see how beat up the tires are in the pics tomorrow...

Man, you're scaring me with these pics. My last tires - Goodyear Tracker II's - were like this when I got rid of them last month, with 14k miles on them. Got the BFG AT K/O's now, only about 1k on them I think. Anyway, something is up here dude. I've been told to expect anywhere from 30k to 60k out of these tires - if you remember, the tire tread was super thick on these. I would get it checked out asap. Sorry you had to wear through such nice tires - they're expensive too

Wow, can't believe that's all you got out of them. I ran BFG AT's on my old TJ and I had over 60K on them. I rotated them ever 4 to 5 thousand miles. I would take it in for a second opinion. Sometimes the guys at the tire shop are morons that are just feeding you bull cause they have no clue what they are doing. Take it to a reputable shop and get their opinion cause you shouldn't have tires that bald after 23k. You did rotate these regularly right?

Yup rotated them about every 4-5k. So what kind of reputable shop would you recommend to get these checked out?

Also would alot of tire spinning out in the desert wear it down this much?? I mean, im 2wd so having speed and momentum is key for me and alot of times i'll loose traction or lift a tire up in the air etc

On a side note, would my warranty cover these? Says they're warranted for 30k.

Ok guys, just got back from discount tire to hear what they say. So 3 tires are at 4/32 and one is at 5/32 of an inch. They said with the warranty they will give credits on the remaining miles. So in total a new set of 4 tires would cost about 541 with the hazards certificates etc. At $155 a tire i think thats pretty good. I think.

Now have you guys heard they made a new bfg AT???? BFG A/T KO e2? i think thats what its called. Thats why its 155 a tire, since my last set was only 138 a tire
