Default Best place to purchase tires?

I've only bought from Discount Tire before, but i've never had tires other than basic $70 tires. I dislike that they charge $16 per tire for installation, then like $6 in other random fees, per tire.

Is there anywhere else I have a better chance? If i'm already spending $700 on tires, I dont wanna spend another $100 on fees and installation.

no kidding...I work with a guy who has a 2nd job there, but he works in the garage and can't really help me out with it

I asked him the other day though and he said mounting was free when you purchase 4 new tires

but the website still says $16 per tire, and that's what theyve always charged me :\ what the frick

I have always had good luck with tread depot. they are the cheapest tires I have found, I then bring them to Walmart to mount and balance. it has been a few years but i thought 12-16 per tire to mount and balance.Last time I bought tires it was $600. for General Grabber AT 2 for tires/ mount and balance.
hope this helps

I usually buy my tires from 4wheelparts.com the $50 shipping usually makes the price unbeatable elsewhere. Also use coupon code CC5OFF to bring the price down a bit more.
I usually pay $65 at Discount or Big O to have them mounted and balanced.

I just received four 235/75-15 Yokohama Geolander A/T-S (29") from Discount Tire for $444 - no shipping fee. It's a 6-ply (LT) 50,000 mile tire that I've also got on my F-150. (The 30/9.50-15 size woulda been $52 more and probably rubbed at full lock.)They were solid in their customer service and threw in four nice metal valve stems too. mounted at WalMart for $50.

I bought them for my wrangler, but the size was 265/70/17 (I just looked up the same size and they are like 139 PCs plus shipping which is like 90 bucks or so. but as I said I bought mine a couple of years ago. I just looked up 235/75/15 and delivered they will be 553.00 plus mount and balance.
Hope this helps

BTW I had 60k on my grabber AT2's they were great tires for me. I rotated every oil change and had to have them rebalanced once.

Yeah right now my two choices are general grabbers or the BFG A/T KOs. Either one will be in 31x10.5 once I buy. A guy I work with also has a job in the Discount Tire garage, he said if I want to buy tires i'll never have to worry about, the BFGs are the way to go, but there is the extra price...
