wich year fits the 97 grand cherokee is it up to 97 - 01 ?
i would like to have a cd player but original double din.
but can i take a stereo from a cherokee 01 and put in mine or how does it work ?

No idea about gc, but cherokee's are 1.5 DIN not 2.
