Fog Lights ftw, or upgrade the fuel injectors. OR if you've got enough coin, get a new exhaust system from mudfrog!

Or toss in a V8 lol.

I would suggest upgrading headlights, can be done for under a 100 bucks and if your stock headlights suck as much as most xj's this will make a great difference even if you just upgrade the headlight wiring harness (not hard.) search around and you will find lots of info on it

also look through this thread https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/ho...ep-mods-21618/
lots of great ideas and will really get your mind going

Are these better than the mustangs? Or are the mustangs for the older models?

You need 784 injectors I believe - some need their donor hardware to mount up. Better read up on that before you head for the JY... good mod.

Add boring out the throttle body to 60- 62mm. Available through members here and online.

Total cost - about $100 for both mods.

If you choose to upgrade ignition, be sure to get adequate plug wires at the same time you order a hotter coil. (I assume you can upgrade ignition on yours...) Wish I had done that to mine.

If you have plenty of cash, jump right in with lift and tires and then keep at it adding the recovery points first, then stuff light injectors, lights, maybe even axle swaps and lockers....

But if your on a tight budget, don't try to get a cheap lift, use it for the other stuff then when you get the money get a nice lift and it do it right the first time the exact way that YOU want it.

If you are on a budget as you said, depending upon your xj situation... my first mod was aftermarket radio and new speakers.

On a budget... I have added new speakers all the way around, aftermarket radio, sanded, fiber glassed and bondoed all the rust. I have also replaced a rusted out rear bumper, tail light and other random things that were wrong.

Fog lights are so savory though. I have on bumper and in stock location fogs right now.

#1 should always be recovery points. Always.
But, if that's not what you choose, I would do the 784 injector swap. Got a set if you're interested.
