can anyone tell me how to bedliner my stock fenders and front and rear bumpers. would i have to take off the fenders and bumpers to spray then?

 

spray bedliner usually isn't very good, i used it on my front bumper, but it can chip off with just my finger nail... the paint of stuff is the good stuff, but also more expensive... i have only used one brand of spray on bedliner, other brands may be better but i dont know from experience.

 

I figure you are talking about duplicolor. If that's true I have heard of poor quality from it before. My personal favorite is rustoleums bedliner, I have used it on my wheels and my floor and love the stuff. For painting your jeep prep work is a big part, you will want to sand it and prime it with self etching primer then just spray it on in thin coats you don't have to go for full coverage on the first shot. Yeah i hate dupli color now... Ruined my rocker panels and i just have to re-do it... Theres a pic in the random thread...

 

I'd go to Walmart and pic up a couple spray cans of the rustoleum type bedliner

ive heard good about rustoleum and gotten great results form it also, but for the fenders them self, yes i would take them off so you cant get a good amount of coats even in the places you think you cant see beause you always seem to notice the small things, but if your talking about the flares.(i did mine) take them off as well but that is real easy. sand them with some fine grit paper then prime and paint. post pics when done

 

x3 for not using Dupli-Color's spray on liner, nothing but wasted money.

Out of curiosity, as anyone tried using adhesion promoter before spraying or rolling on bedliner? Assuming you still sanded and/or primed the surface first.

 

ive just sanded and primed. my off road bumper, flares, grille, and rockers. no scratches. jeep looks funny imo cause the rest of the paint is junk

 

Just got finished doing a similar project. Used rustoleum roll on. Great product imo.

 

U-Pol Raptor used 1/4 of the supplied material to do as pictured below



The prep is 90% of the work and is essential in getting good results. 3 years and still kickin A$$

 

Same thing for me, use upol Raptor liner and be generous with the hardener and coats, I almost did my entire jeep with 3 bottles, kit comes w 4 and a gun and hardener, around 180-200$
