Hey all, hopefully getting my hands on some end caps for my '00 XJ and going to be putting bed-liner on 'em. Should I use primer first on them? From what I have seen the bed-liner works best on metal without primer, but not too sure if the same would be true for plastic. Anyone got any ideas which way to go on this for better results?

if your using the roll on stuff i dont see the need for primer, just make sure you clean the surface and then scuff it up with sand paper. I used Hurculiner and bought a kit that came with a scuff pad that worked great.

Dont primer, bedliner bonds perfectly with scruffy plastic. just sand with 120 grit first

Just dust it off too... don't use a cleaner... whatever's left will just mix with the herculiner and won't hurt anything... I used cleaner on all my ZJ's plastics and the junk had degreaser in it... peeled off the first time it rained lol... maybe wipe off with alcohol but I don't even do that anymore... makes no difference...

actually, thanks for asking the question. I am also planning on bedlining, and I am sure when I got to the plastic parts I would have been asking myself the same thing, then would have had to stop. This saves me from having to stop.
