Default BDS Customer Service Problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the 8.5" long arm lift and I have a bad clunking noise in the front. Well I finaly found out what it is. The front shocks are shot already, they are leaking fluid out all over the place. BDS has a "limited" warranty on the shocks. They tell me that the only way they would be bad is if they have been either bottomed out or over extended. Well come to find out they gave me shocks that fit a 6.5" lift and not a 8.5 lift and they will not warrantee them because they have been over extended and I have to buy new ones. Isn't that kinda there fault?

If the shocks came as part of the 8.5 lift kit, then it is their fault & you should persue the matter. If your invoice says shocks - 8.5, the same applies. If you simply bought the shocks at the same time you bought the lift, then it gets iffy, even if you told the sales person that you wanted "X" or Y". It's tough to prove. Either way, go get 'em.

I did lol, I told them that I spent almost 3grand on a lift and I not need to buy shocks because somone there at BDS didn't do there job properly. They told me that I should have double checked the part #s. They fit just fine, I never thought that I had to check and see if the shocks where the right ones. Thats there job when they put the kit together. I told them to send a call tag and I will give them this lift back and buy a rough country or somthing. Anything but a BDS and they then told me that there are no refunds that they will just replace parts if they break. lol HELLO!!! My shocks are broke can you replace them then??...... No thats a normal wear item, like bushings, tie rods shocks are normal wear items. I then asked if its normal for trac bar bushings to go out whitin 1000-1500 miles and shocks to go bad in about 2000 miles?? lol He then told me that the shocks didn't wear out they was installed improperly. I said, you have got to be kiddin me. How do you install shocks improperly when YOU ALL sold them to me in a KIT!!! We just went on and on and on untill I hung up on them.

Why don't you forward them the link to this posting? They may find it somewhat motivating.

If you go to an auto parts store. And you ask for a part for your vehicle and you get home and it is the wrong part. You take it back, they either swap the part for the right one or give you your money back. It is not your job to know all the part numbers before you walk into the auto parts store and ask for something.

I don't see why this company is making such a huge issue out of it.

Well I sent them an email with a link to this form so they can see whats being said. I agree, a multimillion dollor company has to screw somone out of a set of $160 shocks blows my mind. I am a business man myself. I have owned my own company for about 10 years and would never think twice about making somthing right. Especially somthing so minute like this. Somthing like this might cost them 1000s in the long run.

Well now that we have more information ... BDS might have a good argument in that you ran the shocks for 2000 miles before you realized that they were incorrect. I might have a problem with that too, now. It is unreasonable to expect a full refund in this situation. A partial refund or an offer to work with you might be a better solution. I'm afraid that after 2000 miles, your claims are a bit leaky ...

Dude ...
