When I put it in drive, or reverse from park, with my foot all the way down on the brake, it makes this loud bang noise after shifting. What does this mean? and is it something I need to get fixed right away?
x2. U joints are the usual suspect. If it is indeed the u joints, you can go with OEM, or upgraded ones. Spicer is quality. I've gone thru plenty of joints both on DS's and wheel joints, enough to make me wish I'd just upgraded in the first place..

Thanks for your input guys. I'll check everything tomorrow during the day and get back to y'all. I'm don't know a whole lot about vehicles though (pretty much every thread I've posted is some dumb question...haha), what specific U-joints should I really be focused on?

The ones you should check are the two on the rear driveshaft. One on each end. Crawl under and try twisting the driveshaft, and look at the joint. There shouldn't be any play.
