bad mpg help
i just bought my first jeep, a stock 1993 cherokee xj with 170k. i just changed the oil, air filter, all brakes, all tires to 235/75-15, radiator flush, added some stp fuel system cleaner, i know i need to replace tie rod, damper, sway links, and steering shaft. im getting about 50 to 60 mpg per tank.... i was thinking about changing 02 sensor and spark plugs, any other ideas on where to start? would the tie rod and etc have an effect on mpg?

Since somebody deleted my post for an unknown reason, I'll repost it...
I'd do a transmission drain and fill (or three) with Dex/Merc. Just for the hell of it.
According to RockAuto, 93s have 1 sensor. Use NTK.
I use Champion Copper plugs. Very cheap, and the 4.0s love them.
Try this: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/free-quick-fix-41821/
One adjustment I would make to the above... when opening the TB to WOT, don't do it from the engine bay. Go step on the gas pedal.
I doubt any of these will fix your issue completely, but they might help you out a bit.
Edit: nevermind. Your original thread got moved to OEM tech.

Would that work for the 02? And I just adjusted the cable seems to have made a difference thanks.
