aw4 trans
Is the aw4 a good transmission. I have one that was rebuilt by speedy transmissions in knoxville tn not even 15k ago and its slipping already. Has anyone else had problems with this trans?

That's not normal! These are 300k transmissions when they're treated right... you definitely need to go back to that shop. Is it still under warranty?

Facepalm. It should last way longer than that.. I would start crusing junk yards for one with under 200k and start with fresh fluid... do you tow a lot?

I suspect they didnt do a good job,
Do you run a cooler? not thru the radiator (cooling the trans thru the rad is stupid, because you will be keeping the oil over 200 degrees minimum)

you can grab a trans cooler off any pick up in a junk yard and use it, or else jegs or summit have them pretty cheap, most people mount them in front of the radiator

I cut the steel lines and run rubber to to cooler. You have to use hose that can handle trans fluid. Also you can empty a quart and add a quart of lucuis I can't spell it but it works vary well. Dose take a long time to get it in.. Its like maple sirup.
