Default AutoZone FTW!!!

The Autozone where I live is the absolute best. I have been working on fixing my Dad's Jeep for quite a while now. They have had everything I have needed for the repairs and have a very knowledgeable staff. Also I priced out a few more of the expensive parts and for many of the parts it was 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the competition.

Napa down here is the most hostile store I have ever been to. They are disrespectful and make the customer feel like he/she doesnt know anything.

Advance Auto Parts is EXPENSIVE. They wanted 75 bucks for a tie rod sleeve Auto Zone charged me 25 for. Also they cant seem to get anything right. At this point I have returned everything I have bought there except a ball joint because they gave me the wrong part. I ordered upper and lower radiator hoses and both were wrong.

Just my experience. I remeber the AutoZone up north was awful but I guess it is regional. This amazing AutoZone is located on 10th St. in Palmetto, Fl if anyone is interested.

i have to agree w/ you on your autozone experience. the autozone i go to by my place - the staff is very helpful & knowledgeable. they even remember what i came in for the last time i was at their store & they also ask if i got the job done.

i used to go to kragen/o'rielly before, but that stopped b/c lately the staff there seems to say "uhhmmm...i'm not sure" quite often. so now i just go there for their sales on fluids.

i now goto my jeep dealer. why you ask? i get the "good guys" discount.

and i goto Autozone too. prior employee so i get a discount there too.

as far as a good autozone. Its the employees that make it. some stores have people that cant change their own oil, while some have all ASE certified employees. The one by my house has a few good people. one specializes in trucks, on loves imports, on loves anything with carbs, and then the other is a v8 genius.

While I agree that Autozones a decent outfit, I quit going there because I grew tired of being upsold at checkout. I came to your store for a battery, if I wanted felt washers and corrosion protectent spray, it would be in my basket. Might just be me, but that angers me. I know whats needed for the job, if I don't roll up to the counter with it it means I have it already. It's like McDonalds asking if I'd like fries with that, what? Did I order fries?

^they dont do that at ours.

I like the autozone, Advance and Napa isnt bad either, but I like autozone the most.
I usually have the number written down for them, so all they have to do is go back and grab it. They like that.

NAPA, is the last place I would go to. Their extremely high priced. And if it's not in their books, under the exact year, model, engine size, their stumped. I once had a '60 VW bug, W/'67 tyranny, and a '72 dual port motor. And I wanted a starter for a automatic VW bug, (Because the difference in flywheel size) It turned into a argument. For Christ sake!, I knew what I had, And what I needed, I built it. (Nice & fast "Bug" w/190 hp. It could lift the front wheels, in 1st. & 2nd. gear.) I've always had a good experience at Auto Zone.

I shop at NAPA and use AZ for the sales of fluids. NAPA has never done me wrong, they are very helpful and have saved me money on this by give me other suggestions. I get a discount there so things are not expensive there for me

I agree with you Desert Rat. I have had that happen on a few different occasions but at least they know what I need. I am not terribly experienced with auto repair but I usually know my stuff but I find it helpful that they have your back on stuff like that. It is just a tad annoying when they just add it to your order without asking.

Also the AutoZone in OH was pretty awful and I used to shop at the Napa up there but the Napa down here is the worst. They treat you almost like you wizzed in their cornflakes and then stole their wife. It is not just me either, most of the people I have talked to, even older guys say they are like that.

Where i live advanced auto has a bunch of non-intelligant foreigners (like off the boat yesterday.) So needless to say i don't go there any more. NAPA always seems over priced with a smaller selection, but since it's close i go there if it's a small thing. No local Autozones which i find weird. I go to pep boys. They aint done me wrong yet, and the rewards card pays for my oil changes. hahah
