Quote: I think I'm going to use IRO pretty soon. I've been reading a lot of great stuff about their kits.
I can't speak for their lifts but I have their track bar and bracket. It was actually the first part I ever bought for my xj! I've been very happy with it in the couple years I've had it. IRO makes some very good products.

Quote: RC is known to have shorter than needed leaf springs at 4.5"s. I'd say go Rusty's.
I've been really considering Rusty's for my 3" kit, but man his shipping charges are hard to swallow. I can get free shipping on RE from Frank and end up spending the same amount of cash.

If your looking for a cheap lift checkout zone as well. Whatever cheap lift kit you buy you'll end up spending more at some point anyways either cause the kit was incomplete or poor quality.
The zone 4.5" kit I bought was fairly complete but it does need a trackbar. I've also since added adjustable uppers which made a huge difference.

Zone and RC have a tendency to ride rough. It it were me, I'd bite the bullet and pay Rusty's shipping honestly, it's the best of the three. Rubicon Express is good too if you can find a dealer (amazon sells some of their stuff for cheap), but almost always give you more lift than advertised which can be an issue for unneeded parts if they lifted to the advertised lift. But either RE or Rusty's are great. I have Rusty's 3.5" lift with MJ shackles and two spring isolators to give me a nice 4" lift and love the ride. Shackle angle is about 50 degrees and I have a tire carrier on the back with no sag. It's an older lift that I got used so the leaf bushings do need to be replaced but I expect it, no complaints. Haven't experienced their control arms or track bar as I have RE superflex lowers and their adjustable track bar but can't complain about them either.

You will not regret going with him after it is installed. Like I said before the highest price items in a lift package are the Leaf and Coils that where quality and American made make a difference. If you try and bundle some smaller items with what your buying helps on the shipping, so check his catalog before you order. Another thing they will talk to you on the phone there to help you out if needed or have questions.

have you considered peicing together a lift?

heres what i consider to be the best way to do it if buying all new, this is only my opinion tho and there are plenty of other ways to accomplish this

Front:
-4.5" RE coils from seriuosoffroad
-seriousoffroad long arms OR IRO short arms depending on $$
-IRO double sheer trac bar (theyve got a flex joint upgrade now)
-C1500 brake lines OR yj brake lines (rock auto or JY) OR stainless
-Bilstein 5100s (seriousoffroad)
- dukie564 sway bar discos (if hes making a batchof them)
-hockey puck bump stops

Rear:
-H.D. Offroad shackle relocation boxes
-1" or so longer shackles
-OME 3.5" leaf springs OR dakota/s10 bastard packs
-bilsteins 5100s
-dodge dakota OR yj rear brake lines OR stainless
-remove the useless rear sway bar
-new u bolts
-bump stops

- i consider a SYE to be optional. i was running 5.5" of lift with a case drop and had the axle shimmed and i had no vibes. you dont HAVE to run one but id recommend it.

check craigslist or the classifieds on here for pieces and you may end up with even better stuff than what i listed,

Would all of these items run under $430 like the Rustys full leaf/coil package? He was looking at a price point and that was a one stop shop except for an Adj. Track Bar that would be extra. He might need a T/C drop kit also and at 3" of lift (most*) do not require an SYE I never did but some may have that I have not saw any posts about.

At 4 1/2" of lift the cost and list of required equipment increases quite a bit to many if not most all you have listed as I have done them all now except for the long arm coming soon I hope.
