Hope he gets that AW4 in, I keep hearing the Mercedes slushbox is a total slug.

OP there are several active build threads with diesel swaps in the build thread section.

Thats one of the few good things about Indiana...they don't really care what you drive anymore.

There's a few problems with the b3.3 he used,It makes 60 to 85 hp and 158 to 224 foot pounds of torque and it weights 606 lbs.The stock 4.0 makes 190hp and 225 foot pounds of torque and weighs 483 lbs.The only diesel that makes sense is the vw diesel swap,The 1.9 tdi vw diesel weights 297 lbs stock its 100hp and 117 foot pounds but tuned can push it to 160hp and 265hp and still see 30 to 35mpg out of it.

Doesn't seem like a problem to me...I'd run mine against any other smaller diesel any day. You don't even notice that it's got less power than the 4.0. It'll spin 33s thru 4th gear. Something that 4.0 could never do.

Is the 1.9 what cotybuilt uses? Thats pretty expensive to do it right. And by right I mean go all out and do everything they offer.
With the 3.3 I don't have to worry about a computer or wiring. I have 3 wires running under the hood. Alternator, starter and fuel shut off. No programming. Just turn fuel and idle. I love it. Wouldn't trade it for something more complicated and pricey.

$4400 for 2 brand new motors, never been ran or had fluid in them.
so $2200 + $775 for tranny adapter + $175 for double crank pulley, $200 exhaust, $250 for brake booster, power steering pump, and alternator/vacuum pump, $1000 for 4.5" lift to clear the oil pan, $100 front end parts to further clear the oil pan, $300 for battery/cables, $200 wiring harness $100 in electric fans. $150 for lengthened/shortened driveshafts (i think thats it) all steel for brackets was free and i built them all myself. all powdercoating was free. so that equals $5450 maybe $6000 because im probably forgetting something. (ill have $25000+ in the whole truck when im done, resto-modded.

coty built wants, for everthing, ***** out, $9400 and $7500 in labor! thats $17000 if im reading their website right. plus you still need a 3" lift and driveshafts made. so thats about $20,000....VERY impractical if you ask me for ~30 mpg.

Yeah, Cotybuilt's full package is pretty pricey. But to be fair, so are the rest of them. You shell out cash for ANYONE to do work of that level and it's going to be expensive. About $20k gets you a 4BT in a JK if I recall correctly.
