This could be a new thread for random little tricks people invent, but i was actually looking for someone to tell me if there's an "old trick" to get gas out of the tank. I don't really want to suck it out, wondering how to drain it without dropping it. I have 15 gallons of gas in a jeep that wont run!!

I don't recommend cutting any fuel lines, it's just a bad idea.

ok, yes..... never tried on a JEEP, but have used many occasions, this works if you can get hose into tank? or have to remove filler tube? if you need weights on hose, use automotive style lug nuts, 2 work for weight, if you find right size, & then tie a piece of wire to hold them on so they dont slide off.

use gas hose, I am guessing, but figure 8 to 10 feet long.

next 6" or so back from 1 end, that is not going in the tank, cut a pie shaped wedge from top, enough that you can see the hollow tube section.

next I hope you have an air compressor, take a blow off chuck & hopefully you have a short tube on end? but short nipple will work, but not as well, blow air towards outside end through the pie cut you made in the hose, this makes the hose work like a venturi, & will suck the fuel, & gravity will take over, or you can keep using air, & no dangerous pumps, sucking with mouth, or anything expensive, & super easy to do.

I hope I explained it so you or anyone else can understand?

If the jeep is fuel injected and the pump works just drain it at the fuel rail.

i like Trev's idea. It is fuel injected. The jeep is totaled. The fuel lines are on the top so you cant drain it. Thought about drilling a hole but im gonna sell it as a salvage titled truck and let someone wheel it in the woods.

It's easier than you think.

Disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail. See that connector? Go to an auto parts store and buy another piece of fuel line that will connect to it, and attach THAT to a rubber hose that leads into a gas can.

Get yourself a piece of wire with a gator clamp and a prod. Find the fuel pump relay and jumper it to the battery.

There you go, the pump will run and force all of the gas through the hose into the gas can.

this is the best way, use the fuel pump to pump it all out, takes a little while but it will work.

Physics trick:

Make sure the gas tank is somewhat elevated or the gas jug your trying to fill is on the ground. Get a small hose and fill it with gasoline (I know it sounds counterproductive but trust me) Now stick your thumb on one end making sure you hold an air seal on it. Stick the open end in the tank. Now get your gas jug or whatever and hold the hose end with your thumb still on it towards the opening of the gas jug. Make sure the jug is below the gas tank level. This is require for the suction trick to work. Let go of your thumb and the gasoline should pour out. It should suck the rest of the fuel in the tank out aswell.
