When i first got my XJ i went with 30" BFG A/T's. They really are a great tire. They wear very well (I put 30k on mine and they still had 50% tread when I sold them after getting 31's), not noisy, stick pretty well to rocks, get through dirt, sand, gravel, and snow real well. Their one downfall is mud. They don't clean out. But overall, they're one of the best out there and they don't cost too much.

I thought they werent near as good in snow as advertised. They sucked imo. I was not impressed to say the least. I'm glad I didnt pay for them and they were on the Jeep when I bought it.

I would like to try General Grabber AT2 tires someday. Take a look at those.

I had 31" grabber at2's on my chevy colorado and loved em. Quiet on the roads, long treadlife (50%ish tread left after 25k miles when i sold the truck), and very good offroad, only thing they didnt fair well in was thick chunky mud. But then again theyre A/T's, not super swampers.

Basically mimic the BFG A/Ts at a lower price.

Mine did great. But, different people will have different experiences so it is what it is. And to the OP, the grabber at2 is a really good tire as well.

I like my BFG Rugged Terrain A/T tires. They are just a step above street tires and a step below AT tires. But my XJ is basically stock and I spend 80% of my time on pavement DD. You wouldn't want them on your rig I don't think.
