Lightbulb Alignment tip I thought I would pass along, save $$!

Just wanted to pass on an idea/ tip for a service that I purchased on my XJ 6 years ago that has paid for itself again and again. Seems many people I talk to are not aware it exists (I heard about it from a friend), so I thought I would pass the info along and hope it helps someone out!

A Lifetime Alignment from Firestone/Tires Plus.

Good for the current owner for the life of the rig. When I bought mine it was about $159? and I have used it about 5-6 times. Whenever i make any suspension change/ adjustment or wheel it harder, fresh alignment. Prob not something i would do so often without the lifetime, but with it I'm like, why not?! tires aren't cheap, and wandering all over the place down the road sucks. I found it is also a good chance to get a second set of eyes on the rig, and get it up on a lift for "free" to take a good look at the underside.

Hope this helps someone!

That's great idea. I might do that. Do I have to purchase Firestone tires?

Sound great. Would they know what to do with adjustable long arms and adjustable track bar etc?

I always go to the same Goodyear place, I paid $69.99 for the first alignment and every time I've changed something in the front end (complete axle swap, long arm swap, tie rod and drag link upgrade etc) they always honor the warranty and extend it each time I bring it back. It helps that they have a few Jeeps sitting around the shop. But a lot of places are willing to work with you, and understand that you might need to make some tweaks in order for them to properly get it aligned.

I made the mistake of taking it to 4wheelparts for an alignment, they charged me $130 and did it out back with a tape measure... Haven't bought anything from them since.

I don't know about the long arms, I don't have them. Call and ask, nothing to loose, everything to gain! Think it may depend on the Tech though, some aren't worth a s#/*, others are worth their weight in gold, maybe you can find a Jeep guy, and go to him!

That would be my suggestion. Check our different places in your area, I'm fortunate enough to live in an area with a lot of off road enthusiasts, two of the tire shops within 3 miles of me always have XJ's parked out back.

Because they're driven by employees or because they break down all the time?

By employees. The place I go to the owner has an XJ as a toy. Occasionally it can be found parked on the light pole in the parking lot.
