Alright all here is my question. I have a 97’2 door 5sp xj. 167k only rust is rockers undercarriage is clean. It is a base model that needs a headliner. I love my Jeep but it is my “spare vehicle”. My issue is this my wife would like at lease one of our vehicles that is not hers to be a automatic so in case of need she can transport the kids. The other thing is the 2 door is not great at putting car seats in. So any way I put it up for trade and someone has offered me a 99 4 door auto. It is basically rust free 1 owner with 75,000 miles. I am ready to jump on it but wanted opinions.
Trade even? a vehicle with half the miles and twice the doors? Unless there is more to the story, it sounds like you are coming out on top of this deal.
A good condition 1 owner XJ with 70,000 miles is a good deal at just about any price under $10k these days. But the "basically rust free" part is a significant determining factor on a price. If you see some rust I can almost guarantee that there is more. An even trade sounds attractive even if there are other issues to be addressed. Verify the seller has a clean title and that everything else seems legit. It if sounds too good to be true be aware.
If having an automatic vehicle for your wife to transport the kids is a priority, then the 99 4 door auto may be a good option. It's also a low mileage vehicle with no rust, which is a plus. However, it's important to consider if you will miss the manual transmission and the 2 door style of your current Jeep.If you are searching for online real-money gaming sites you can visit this https://casinosanalyzer.ca/online-ca...ian-dollar-cad site where you can find online casinos gaming links and much more.
And the manual trans is also. High final drive gearing. Problematic clutch hydraulics. Less performance than auto equipped models. More cumbersome when it comes to driving off-road.
That's as maybe - but fact remains 2-doors have a certain cachet (which equates to a premium in some minds) &, historically, manuals have been considered more of a driver's car.
Commanches are hardly good family cars- but are generally considered desirable.
I have had 18 Comanches and have one still. I get it.
Back in 2006 somebody who worked at the hotel in Scottsdale I was staying at had one. I'd never seen one before (this was a few years before my 1st XJ) & I wanted one - 3 XJ's later, still do. S'far as I know there are only 2 in the UK, - & they belong to the same guy.
