Ive got a gentleman wanting to trade Jeep for Jeep. Here are the specs and my problem- I would trade, but I'm only a set of 4.88's away from solving my highway speed issue.. would it be worth it? YOU let me know.

MINE: '84 CHEROCAR
4.5" Zone Offroad lift on 31x10.5x15
5-speed manual
I-4 Carbureted
Dana 30/35

HIS: '87 CHEROCAR
4.5" lift with 2" spacers front and back (its a rough country x series lift)
35x12.5x???? Wrangler MT's
5 Speed manual
4.0 I6 (Renix?)
Dana 35/44



Would the renix be able to turn those on the highway and go 75-80 without losing speed on hills like my little I4 does? This is performance ONLY, body work is not an issue, interior, etc..

Don't know why the he'll anyone would want to trade a 4l for a 4 banger. Unless said 4l was fixing to blow up.

The new one will need gears if he hasn't done it already. Odd that someone wants to trade a 4.0L MPFI engine for a gutless (comparatively) carbureted 4-banger. Since it's an '87 I assume he has performance and mileage issues, which if aren't gearing related, are probably C101 and ground problems.

sounds to good to be true but like salad said more than likely he doesnt know what its issue is or just wants a mall crawler that he thinks will get better mpg. I would do the trade if it was me.
