A different direction all vehicles are going towards, the new generation of people. Ease of use. Start up and just drive. Hell, the vehicle is lucky if the owner lets it warm up for even a minute. Automatic 4wd. Even the new AWD systems are nominal FWD until needed. Iirc only suburu and Audi are different. The Audi Quattro system is like the 242. 60/40 split until needed.

Actually no, the Quattro is 60/40 with clutch packs, so more like the 249. Its been a while since I went over the system but I was actually impressed with it

Interesting thought. Too true about the get in and go mentality.. I blame TPMS and lane departure warnings, etc; it's taking the human out of the equation. Yes, humans are generally stupid and need these features, but theres the catch : the system begets itself..

I'll never stand behind those features ever. And if I get a new vehicle, it probably wont have the technology package. But, we are but a few compared to the market. Hell, I'm surprised the brought back the full sized surburban lol. Everything is about CUVs nowadays. Some storage space and still low down to help with aerodynamics

Cars are no longer about character. they are simply something people dread to go take out a 40K$ loan because they feel the need for all these things. Sad to see the car market turn into this.

The push for aerodynamics is so dumb. We should be getting 30+ MPGS with our Jeeps, if the MPG/year trend would have not planed off.
