reporting back after a few hundred miles. after adding the hot air intake it sees to have picked up a bit. at the very least there is a clean gauge in the intake manifold from the outside of the tb butterfly hitting it from frequent floorings. win.

edit: I need to see if I'm getting 100% tps.

You're running a 97 Cherokee, right? Same here. What other mods have you made to the intake? How did you do the steering pump bracket?

all I had to do was swap over a couple vacuum line fittings from the old manifold, make another brake booster vac line, plug one of the vac ports on the new intake, and modify an existing vac line. easy stuff.

for the power steering pump bracket all I did was remove the serp belt and loosen the tensioner (a lot) and back the 3 bolts out of the intake leaving everything in place.

Cool beans. I had read somewhere about swapping the old intake for the updated one and having to use a different P/S pump, but the OBDII XJs have the updated steering pump, so there's no issue bolting up the new intake.
