i would have to say the guy does drive it like it is his baby he isint hitting the gas like a maniac and is taking his time...it does appear to be set up right and is clean...I dont think the price is out of wack being that it is turn key if that is something you are looking for...some people have the desire and knowledge to set up their own vehicle while others dont have the knowledge but want to wheel. i say go for it

I checked out other XJs in your area and about all of them are priced in the $4-7k range. I'd imagine living in an area where wheeling is highly accessible, prices are slightly higher.

So with all that said and done... no, for your area, he isn't really that high on his asking price. Also, considering stockers are in the $3k+ area around you, I'm not sure why you'd think this was expensive.

Agreed. That's why I don't think his price is really high. It's turn key are ready to go wheeling. If you're seriously interested, but don't know what to look for, why not pay a reputable 4x4 shop in your area to look at it. I'm sure the seller would have no issue driving it over to the shop of your choice and if he did, I'd keep searching.

It has ~$4000 in upgrades when bought NEW. Purchased used, maybe $2250.

Personally I would keep looking, find a clean stocker and build your own. If you have been doing trails with a stock Land Rover, you should have little trouble in a stock XJ while you build it up.

1. He needed a spotter for that?
2. Find a better spotter. "Turn that way!" It's called, "Driver" or "passenger", not "that way".
3. Looks clean and based on that video it was pretty babied if that's the kind of stuff he did offroad. I've always advised buying stock and building it yourself, but considering what clean, stock XJ's go for in your area, I wouldn't say it's a rip off as long as it runs as good as it looks. Offer him $6k in cash.

i've been going over these same ones over and over for weeks now which is how i came to post the forest green 99 to begin with. cars in my area seem to be a little high in general (or maybe just the people selling them!
compared to the others i agree $6500 seems reasonable. compared to what they go for in other places it seems it could be pretty high. i've only been looking for a few weeks so i don't really know what the "norm" is around here. could be there are just a few overpriced ones up right now...
