99 Cherokee intermediate plate?

99 Cherokee intermediate plate?
I have had two intermediate plates crack on me in the past 3 months what is the problem? The plate that it bolts to looks like it's cupping away from the tranny and is it supposed to be that way or is the plate supposed to be flat? Please help me sick of spending cash!!!!!!!
