Default 93-98 Cherokee Recall

A big Chrysler recall was announced today for 93-98 Grand Cherokees, rear mounted fuel tanks may explode in a rear end collision.

Would the Cherokee Sport be included in this group? I checked my VIN and the only recall outstanding was the corrosion of the front rotors going back to the year 2000.

Just want to make sure that I don't have to worry about my gas tank because I drive my son in the Cherokee.

Anyone?

It's for Grand Cherokees only...makes sense right. I could use a free hitch.

Cherokee and grand cherokee are to different jeeps,Honestly if your worried about it get a trailer hitch that will protect the tank.To me its over hyped all cars before the 70s had a gas tank in the rear about a inch from the back bumper and it was safe back then lol.

I think I will get the hitch for the extra protection. Gives me a good excuse to buy a small bass boat too!

Pretty cool Pinto. There is a 79 Camaro on NJ Craigslist all jacked up on a blazer body. The guy has been shopping it for months.

That's the spirit. Think of the positives.

And you can get a hitch shackle so you have a rear recovery point if you go off road.

Yeah, my 1965 Impala had the gas cap right behind the license plate

Yeah but people weren't texting on their phones rear ending people. Also that Impala had an actual METAL bumper.

That's the next thing. An XJ also had a metal, even though thin, bumper. Most newerish cars have plastic bumpers with foam and a metal plate.
